Full-time, fixed term at Camperdown Campus, NSW Centre Administration Officer to support effective and efficient administrative and operational tasks of the Heat and Health Research Centre Base Salary $86,511 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Heat and Health Research Centre is a multi-disciplinary team of researchers striving to understand the causative pathways of – and develop evidence-based solutions for – the health impacts of heat exposure across the human lifespan. The Heat and Health Research Centre sits within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at The University of Sydney.
The Administrative Officer works under general supervision from the Centre Manager and provides a wide range of administrative and operational support to the Centre such as managing daily office operations, diary management (scheduling meetings and minute taking), financial management, supporting centre events, and responding to staff and student general administrative enquiries.
As the first point of contact for all staff and students, this role requires excellent communication, administrative and organisational skills, attention to detail, ability to initiate solutions and to anticipate and plan for tasks to coordinate and prioritise well to complete a wide range of operational activities.
Your key responsibilities will be to: Manage daily operations - deliver broad centre administrative support to ensure effective day-to-day office operations
Diary and travel management - provide administrative assistance to the centre and centre director regarding diary management, travel arrangements, reimbursements, and payment/invoice processing
Event and outreach support – assist with the planning and execution of centre events and outreach initiatives
Marketing - supports the upkeep of centre's websites and social media platforms
Data and document management – ensures effective data organisation and documentation management
Relationship and stakeholder management - contributes to a collaborative research team, supports centre goals and ambitions, and maintains productive working relationships across the University
Ad-hoc projects - undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities as required
About you previous administrative experience within a tertiary education organisation
excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
manage multiple tasks meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes with keen attention to detail, and a demonstrated self-starting approach to work
a demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and solve problems and proactively identify and make suggestions for improved administrative practices and service
high level organisational skills
