Informatics Service includes a wide range of responsibilities ranging from clinical decision support through data analysis and visualisation to clinical documentation improvement and from system design to system implementation/administration and adoption issues. It has as key role in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) through a recognised process of improving healthcare records at point of care to improve patient outcome through quality safe documentation/communication, data quality and accurate acuity activity.
About the role: The Clinical Nurse Consultant (Informatics) is responsible for the facilitation and provision of safe, quality, and cost-effective care consistent with contemporary clinical standards and best practice, principles of Activity Based Management Framework, organisational change – change management guidelines and destination 2030.
Demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills and expert clinical judgement. Coordinate, develop, implement, translate, and evaluate clinical practice standard guidelines, procedures and protocols using an evidence-based approach. Exhibit educational leadership and expertise in determining learning needs and mechanisms to foster a culture of learning in the workplace. Participate in innovation and change to develop responses to address emerging service needs. About you: Mandatory qualification/s: Current Registered Nurse/Midwife registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
A relevant postgraduate Diploma or Master's degree is an expectation of this position and or Clinical Documentation Specialist qualifications/certification. Non-mandatory qualifications/requirements: While not mandatory, 12 months or more experience in a clinical documentation specialist role or similar would be well regarded.
