An exciting opportunity has become available to take on a leadership role within the Development and Planning team based in Emerald.
We are looking for a highly skilled individual to take on the role of Coordinator Development and Planning who will lead, support and develop a small team whilst also using their technical expertise to work on a diverse range of applications.
We are looking for an individual whose experience has an emphasis on senior level town planning and ideally has worked in a local government environment.

In this role, you will support the Development and Planning team by:
Leading, mentoring and supporting a multi-disciplinary team Reviewing delegated reports for development applications Overseeing enforcement matters including show cause & enforcement notices Providing legislative interpretation & advice across a number of Acts & Regulations relating to planning, plumbing and building Establishing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships and providing exceptional customer service To be considered for this opportunity, you will need:
Degree qualification in Town Planning or equivalent discipline Certificate IV WHS or willing to undertake within 12 months of commencement High level computer literacy with experience with GIS, Microsoft Suite and Record Management programs Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience in interpreting and complying with relevant Planning, Building, Plumbing and Environment legislation.
Demonstrated planning experience at a senior or principal level.
Demonstrated ability to program, manage and deliver the active workloads of a planning unit Demonstrated ability to coordinate, develop and support a team of multi-disciplinary employees within a political environment to achieve required outcomes.
Excellent report writing, presentation and networking skills, and the ability to coach a multi-disciplinary team to produce quality timely outputs.
Demonstrated solutions focused outlook with a high desire to problem solve and create positive outcomes.
