The Role: Central Gypsum is looking for an enthusiastic full-time Mining & Operations Manager. Your core mission will be to lead and manage the safe production and delivery of our market-leading gypsum products from the point of extraction (Lake Cowan) to dispatch. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader with a passion for building teams and driving operational excellence.
As the Mining & Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the management and motivation of a small team comprising 8-10 people working over rostered day/night shift operations. You will work closely with the Production Manager to ensure the safe, smooth, and efficient functioning of our Norseman operations while adhering to applicable WHS legislation.
Anticipated Roster: This role requires a high degree of collaboration with the Production Manager through synchronized rostering to ensure adequate Site Senior Executive (SSE) coverage in accordance with WHS legislation. Currently operating 2 weeks on 1 week off, supports FIFO (Perth) / DIDO (Kalgoorlie or Esperance) or Norseman resident.
Key responsibilities will include: Leadership, team management, and oversight of day-to-day operations. Safety, environmental, and quality compliance. Reporting on production and operations management. Mining operations efficiency and improvements leading to realization of targeted KPI's. About You: You are an experienced Mining/Quarry/Operations Manager with a minimum of 5 years' experience managing teams in a mining/quarry/production operations environment. You have the requisite skills and experience to step into the role of Site Senior Executive (SSE) and can evidence a pathway towards completion of Statutory S26 courses and SSE exam before 30 Mar '26. You are hands-on, lead by example, and able to engage and influence a team while maintaining a professional working relationship as a manager. You are well organized, plan for success, and able to support and drive your team towards achieving their goals. You prioritize safety, quality, and team culture. You're passionate about what you do and look to always deliver great outcomes while identifying areas for continuous improvement. You can navigate through and apply even levels of attention to both the practical and administrative sides of managing a team (planning, forecasting, operating to budgets, following procedures and processes, etc.)
