The Role With an exciting pipeline of work, a new role has been created for a driven and high-energy Electrical Project Manager for the company's Switchboards business unit. Working closely with the Operations Manager and Engineering Manager across a variety of projects, the role will involve:
Developing comprehensive project plans to guide switchboard and switchroom builds from concept to completion. Managing the day-to-day operational aspects of Electrical based construction projects ranging in value from $100k - $2M. Leading and managing a small team of design engineers, drafters, and electricians to ensure efficient project execution. Fostering a collaborative and positive work environment, providing guidance, training, and support to team members. Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, maintaining clear and open lines of communication. Conducting regular project meetings, providing updates on timeline, costs, and quality. Preparing cost estimates, managing variation orders, and negotiating contracts with suppliers/subcontractors. Proactively identifying and assessing potential risks to project timelines, costs, or quality and developing mitigation strategies. Resolving technical issues that may arise during project execution. Conducting post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned. About You You are flexible, adaptable, and willing to go the extra mile in almost any situation to get the job done. You have the ability to work autonomously, are able to communicate project needs clearly, and your knowledge of software and technology can be described as well practiced. You will need:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Project Supervisor/Manager role within the Electrical Switchboard industry. Experience in managing schedule-driven projects – 24 weeks with possible extension. Exceptional time and relationship management skills. Natural leadership ability for both small and large teams. A valid driver's license (manual).
