The YAT Nurse ensures the smooth and efficient functioning of the headspace primary health clinics through the provision of support and assistance to GP's and other Private Allied Health Providers operating as a component of the headspace Gosford and Lake Haven services. In addition, the YAT Nurse is a member of the Youth Access Team, and is expected to also take on the roles and function of this team including the assessment, triage and referral of young people aged 12-25 years experiencing/or at risk of developing mental health problems. The YAT Nurse operates as a liaison point between the YAT and the GP team, and provides primary health services directly to young people within their scope of practice and under the supervision of the GP's.


An Eligibility List (E-List) or talent pool may be created from this recruitment episode to assist in filling future permanent, temporary, or casual full-time and part-time positions



As an experienced Mental Health Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing excellent patient centred care through comprehensive clinical assessment and risk management, alongside therapeutic engagement and intervention to acute mental health consumers.

About You

You possess current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Desirable to have experience in the mental health clinical speciality, but not a requirement.
A commitment to quality improvement, practice development and evidence-based practice.
You are motivated to learn and grow within a dynamic field.

The role will be based at Gosford Hospital and you may occasionally be requested to work at other sites within Central Coast Local Health District.
