About You You have a minimum tertiary degree and current full registration with APHRA or are eligible for membership of a relevant professional body as a Social Worker, Dietitian, Occupational Therapist, Registered Psychologist or endorsed Clinical Psychologist, Registered Nurse with postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty and at least three years full-time equivalent postgraduate experience working within Mental Health and/or Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services or a specialist Eating Disorder Service.You possess demonstrated knowledge of disordered eating, body image, and related social and cultural issues with extensive understanding of the clinical expertise required in the identification, assessment, diagnosis, care planning, management, and treatment in young people.You have demonstrated clinical expertise and clinical leadership in mental health, including the ability to develop specialty clinical practice and service delivery and provide consultation on the care of complex patients in the community and inpatient settings.Where you'll be working Join the CCLHD as the Eating Disorder Early Intervention Clinician, covering the entire district, often located at Toukley Health Centre, where there is parking available with highway access. This role focuses on enhancing non-specialist services to deliver early identification and treatment for young people with eating disorders. They will also provide senior clinical leadership in developing and delivering specialized eating disorder services for children, adolescents, and their families.
This role involves providing specialist eating disorder services, liaison, and consultation regarding the management of children, adolescents, and young people with eating disorders and their families in both community and hospital-based settings, including local or tertiary mental health inpatient units. The clinician will collaborate with tertiary hospitals in Sydney and Newcastle in the transfer of care of young people back to the Central Coast.
