Under close direction and supervision, the Library Officer - Junior will assist in providing efficient and effective frontline services to the internal and external customers and clients of the Library, with a focus on representing and maintaining the Library as a professional, safe, and high-quality community facility. Library Officers will perform a range of customer service duties, provide general administrative support, and assist with the delivery of Library programs. Library Officers will also assist in the management of stock (e.g., shelving library books, ordering consumables, etc.).
Ability to work every Saturday is essential. Employment Status: Casual
Award: Level 1 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017
Salary Range: $23.97 to $35.24 per hour – hourly rate dependent on age
ABOUT THE ROLE The successful candidate will have: | Essential Knowledge, skills and abilities | Sound computer skills including experience in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. Effective and efficient time management skills with the ability to apply attention to detail. Ability to carry out tasks of a routine nature in accordance with established procedures. Ability to work effectively in a small team, in a professional and positive manner. Sound understanding of confidentiality with the ability to work with sensitive information and maintain discretion. Ability to liaise with the public to promote the library service. Good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to liaise with a wide range of people at all levels. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role. Ability to work every Saturday. | Essential Education/Qualifications | Minimum education level of Year 10 or equivalent and/or relevant work experience.
