Specialist/Consultant Cardiology/Internal Medicine The Role: We are seeking a Specialist/Consultant - Cardiology and Internal Medicine to join a dedicated team in a rural setting.
Salary package - $337,429 Desirable Qualifications: Sub-Specialty training in Advanced Cardiac Imaging (including echo, CT-coronary angiography or Cardiac MRI) or Heart Failure.
Dual-Training in, experience working in or an interest in, General Internal Medicine.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: Provide strong leadership and manage all aspects of the day-to-day activities within Cardiology and the Department of Medicine, focusing on patient safety and quality of services.
Provide high quality safe inpatient, outpatient, and outreach clinical services in Internal Medicine.
Initiate and partake in quality management activities, performance appraisal, and personal and Departmental continuing education programs.
Ensure adequate supervision of and participation in teaching programs for junior medical staff, including advanced trainees and medical students.
Undertake Clinical Audit activities and research as appropriate.
Participate in relevant Hospital Committees and other administrative duties as required and provide advice to the Director of Medical and Clinical Services on matters relating to Internal Medicine.
Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
The Hospital: The Hospital is a 189-bed facility and the only acute secondary care service for 1500km in any direction, with more than 60% of admissions being Aboriginal people often from remote communities.
The hospital provides a range of services including Day Procedure, Emergency, Intensive Care, Maternity, Medical, Outpatients, Paediatric, Surgical, and Mental Health services.

Skills & Qualifications Required: Appropriate specialist qualifications and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, or equivalent.
Interest in Indigenous health and ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
Good verbal and written skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to assume administrative and supervisory responsibilities.
Eligible for specialist medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
