About the Mental Health Service… The Tasmanian Health Service is committed to ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of all Tasmanians through the delivery of comprehensive treatment and care, and ongoing service development to meet the needs of individuals and families living across the state.
Statewide Mental Health Services deliver psychiatric treatment and care via inpatient units in hospitals and a number of community-based services. Psychiatric services include adult mental health; child and adolescent mental health including a Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service and a Family Therapy team; older persons mental health; a mental health helpline; and community services including residential rehabilitation and community-based recovery services.
