Join our dynamic Regional Growth and Development team as a Development Compliance Officer and make a tangible impact on the Bundaberg region's development landscape.
In this vital role, you will lead investigations and take proactive action to ensure development compliance, helping to achieve Council's vision for sustainable and well-managed growth.
Key Responsibilities Provide advice to developers, consultants, and the public on a range of building and development matters to assist them in achieving compliance with the laws and policies applicable to development within the Bundaberg region, including Council's Planning Scheme/s. Through education and enforcement, assist in ensuring that the full benefits of development are experienced by our community and that any risks to public safety or the environment are minimized or avoided. Investigate, monitor, and report on compliance and regulatory matters, ensuring thorough and timely action. Maintain and update the Council's complaints/compliance reporting system. Handle correspondence related to compliance matters effectively. About You Hold a C class drivers' licence Demonstrated experience in working in a high performing team that delivers quality customer service. Demonstrated experience in understanding, interpreting, and applying legislation, regulations, and policies to complex situations. Demonstrated experience in using strong organisational and administrative skills in a high-pressure environment Qualification in Local Government Compliance (Certificate IV) or equivalent qualification, or equivalent investigation skills and experience.
