About us
St John's Catholic Primary School is located in Walkerston, 14 km inland from the large coastal city of Mackay. St John's presently caters for its students in a mix of one and two streams in year level structures, with a future projection of two classes of each grade. Through fostering children's ability to become reflective and self-directed learners, our school aims to nurture effective communicators, capable producers, willing participators, eager investigators and creative problem solvers.
Your Role
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic persons for this term-time position of Administration Secretary . This is a term-time continuing position for 35hpw, commencing from February 2025 or as negotiated with the successful applicant.
The Administration Secretary is a key role in our school office, providing exceptional customer service to new and existing families as well as supporting students, staff and the school leadership team in a variety of ways. Outstanding interpersonal skills, good attention to detail and effective organisational and technological capabilities are pre-requisites of the successful applicant.
The Administration Secretary will provide a variety of secretarial and administrative support which enables the maintenance of efficient administration systems that serve the educational function of the school.
About you
The successful applicant will have relevant qualifications and/or experience and an understanding of, and a commitment to, the ethos of Catholic Education. In addition, you will have excellent time management skills, well-developed interpersonal skills, and a high proficiency in computer skills.
