About the role We are seeking a full-time Catering Supervisor. Reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager, the Catering Supervisor helps manage the onsite Catering team. This hands-on position oversees day-to-day kitchen operations to provide high-quality catering across the business including the onsite Cruise Café & Bar, onboard vessels, and at Reefworld – a permanently moored pontoon, located 39 nautical miles offshore on the Great Barrier Reef. The Catering Supervisor is responsible for maintaining high-quality menu preparation and presentation, ensuring the standards of service are always exceeded to maximize the guest experience.
Splitting time between Catering and administration duties, the Catering Supervisor also assists with private charters and special events. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Hands-on management of day-to-day kitchen operations to provide high-quality catering across the business including the onsite Cruise Café & Bar and onboard vessels.Prepare menus and provide input for new ideas in collaboration with the Food & Beverage Manager.Understand and cater to food allergies and dietary requirements.Ensure appropriate storage of food items and safe transportation of food.Ensure high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and general safety of all staff.Stock procurement and monitoring portion and waste control.Administrative support such as ordering, email management, and creation of SOPs, policies, and procedures.Provide mentorship, leadership, and guidance to Catering Chef, Cooks, and Kitchen Attendants.Stay current on catering industry trends.May occasionally be called upon to provide cover for the Reef World Chef.About you The successful candidate will be a team leader and have a true passion for high-quality food with a real commitment to delivering the best standards, ensuring our guests leave with lasting memories!
