We have anopportunity for a Catering Co-ordinator to join our Melbourneoffice. This role is a full time fixed term contract until March2025.
The Cateringteam forms part of Office Services which includes Front of House(Reception), Service Hub (mailroom), Switchboard, Facilities, andFiles & Securities.
In this roleyou will be providing excellent service for client and employeemeetings and functions in a friendly, professional manner. Ensurethat all meetings and functions are catered for appropriately andthat the client area, breakout spaces and kitchens are always keptclean and tidy.
Keyresponsibilities
Thesuccessful candidate will be responsible for:
workingwith the Catering team on co-ordinating all aspects of thecatering function within the Melbourne office;
assisting the Front ofHouse Co-ordinator with offering and preparing tea/coffee andrefreshments for client and internal meetings;
monitoring Cateringinbox throughout the day and take responsibility for cateringrequirements, liaising with internal team regarding cateringrequests and booking/ordering catering formeetings;
preparing, setting upand serving of catering for client and firm events;
ensuringcompliance with food safety hygiene and foodhandling/preparation procedures;
ensuringmeeting rooms, kitchens, and breakout areas are keptpresentable on all floors;
maintaining, cleaning,and restocking kitchen commodities, cleaning supplies andequipment on all floors including ordering groceries andsupplies online;
providing quotes forcatering as required;
setup ofweekly Thursday/Friday night drinks;
workingwith internal clients to finalise menus for events;
processing supplierinvoices including allocating in Chrome River;
reviewing suppliersagainst costs and quality;
inconjunction with the Events team, organise externalfunctions;
booking,inducting, and supervising external chef and waitstaff;
co-ordinating cateringfor off-site functions i.e. kosher meals;
completing a regularstock rotation in all kitchens and storage rooms to mitigatestock loss;
developing andmaintaining internal and external relationships;
providing reception andswitchboard coverage when required; and
ad hocduties as and when required.
Skills andexperience
We would liketo hear from candidates with the following skills andexperience:
hospitalityqualification or minimum level 1 Food & Safety Handlercertificate;
responsible Service ofAlcohol certificate;
minimum3 years' experience in a similar position, preferably ina corporate environment;
solidunderstanding of food safety hygiene;
experience workingwithin a team, fostering a supportive environment while takinga lead in mentoring and guiding the team;
experience withorganising corporate functions;
excellent organisationalskills and the ability to plan and prioritiseeffectively;
exceptional customerservice skills with ability to interact with all businesslevels;
excellent communicationskills – verbal and written;
abilityto work under pressure and problem solve;
havestrong attention to detail;
demonstratesinitiative;
stronginterest in and flair for catering; and
workingknowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
