About the role We are seeking a full-time Catering Chef to join the team.
Reporting to the Catering Supervisor, the Catering Chef helps manage the onsite Catering team.
This hands-on position oversees day-to-day kitchen operations to provide high-quality catering across the business including onsite catering, onboard vessels, and at Reefworld – a permanently moored pontoon, located 39 nautical miles offshore on the Great Barrier Reef.
The Catering Chef also assists with private charters and function events.
The Catering Chef is responsible for maintaining high-quality menu preparation and presentation, ensuring the standards of service are always exceeded to maximize the guest experience.
They are also responsible for maintaining a high standard of hygiene, cleanliness, and general safety of all staff working in food preparation.
The Catering Chef must contribute to a strong, positive team environment and undertake relief work at Reefworld when the Reefworld Chef is absent due to sickness or leave.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Hands-on management of day-to-day kitchen operations to provide high-quality catering across the business.Prepare menus and provide input for new ideas in collaboration with the Catering Supervisor.Understand and cater to food allergies and dietary requirements.Ensure appropriate storage of food items and safe transportation of food.Ensure high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and general safety.Stock procurement and monitoring portion and waste control.Provide mentorship and guidance to Cooks and Kitchen Attendants.Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate a team.Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.About you The successful candidate will be flexible to work at various times throughout the day, either early mornings or afternoon starts with late finishes in our off-site catering facility.

To be successful in this role, you will have/be:
