So, what does a typical day look like? As a Catering Attendant, you're an integral member of our team, working across a range of areas to prepare all elements required to deliver a memorable dining experience for passengers onboard our airline customers' flights. To do this, you may perform a variety of roles across our kitchen, bar make up, and wash areas.
We have three Catering sections that make up our operations, each relying on the other to bring together a well-timed, coordinated, and fast-paced production line.
Catering Attendant - Production (Kitchen)Food handling, plating meals, and meal tray set, ensuring presentation specifications are met using our visual guides.Assisting the Chefs with ensuring the meals are carefully packed and loaded into meal racks and airline carts for delivery.Working on different classes including Economy, Business Class, and First Class menus for our various client airlines.Compliance with food safety and HACCP guidelines, and adherence to hygiene standards and cleaning schedules.Catering Attendant - Equipment, Bar & Make-Up (EMU)Stocking airline carts with dry store items including equipment, packaged snacks, and canned/bottled beverages.Ensure accurate count of each item and filling out paperwork for each airline cart.Restock areas to par levels for all equipment and dry goods.Move the fully stocked airline carts safely from one zone to the next.Compliance with food safety and HACCP guidelines, and adherence to hygiene standards and cleaning schedules.Catering Attendant - WashLoading and unloading our industrial wash lines, ensuring that all cutlery, crockery, and glassware are in perfect condition.Sort all cutlery, crockery, and glassware into sections and airlines.Communicate and coordinate with team members to ensure delivery timelines are met.Compliance with safety guidelines, and adherence to hygiene standards and cleaning schedules.What do you need to be successful in securing this role? Attention to detail and focus on keeping accurate count.Good verbal and written communication skills.Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as move and lift items.Ability to work shift work across a 7-day roster.Neat and tidy presentation.Knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP (desired but not essential).Basic knife skills (desired but not essential).As you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check.Availability to work 38 hours/week, as this role is a full-time permanent position.
