As a Category Specialist at Babcock, you will support the Category Manager in developing and managing sourcing strategies that align with the organisation's objectives.
With a Graduate Certificate or Degree in a relevant discipline, to be successful you will have either a membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or actively pursuing membership.
Your ability to engage with key stakeholders and understand business needs set you apart, as does your commitment to delivering value and compliance in all sourcing activities.
You have a keen insight into the supplier market, particularly with a focus on small to medium enterprises, Indigenous businesses, veterans, and woman-owned companies.
Your strong relationship-building skills will enable you to maintain effective partnerships with suppliers, ensuring they meet performance expectations and contractual obligations.
You thrive in dynamic environments, performing scope and risk assessments with ease, and you excel in leading sourcing activities that drive strategic outcomes.
About the role Primary responsibilities will be to contribute to category strategies that ensure value for money, appropriate service levels and adherence to professional best practices.
Leading sourcing activities within your category, overseeing the creating and execution of RFx events that align with established strategies.
By providing insights into supplier capabilities and market dynamics, this position will play a key role in ensuring that our procurement processes effectively leverage the supplier panel and comply with business KPI's and HPI's.
Establishing and nurturing relationships with suppliers will be essential, as will monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with contract requirements.

To be successful in this position you will bring: Experience in a similar strategic procurement or supply chain role Graduate Certificate or Degree in a relevant discipline Ability to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders Excellent technical communication skills- written and verbal Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance as defined by AGSVA guidelines.
