Your opportunity We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Category Manager to join our Ready for Growth team based in Brisbane CBD. This is a fixed-term opportunity, with the possibility of extension depending on business needs.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Finance, Transformation, the Category Manager will be pivotal in driving strategic procurement and contract management excellence within a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
Key responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end procurement and contract lifecycle of the Ready for Growth category overseeing the Transformation Office and six strategic pillars designed to help Queensland Rail deliver on its strategic initiatives.Develop and implement procurement strategies and frameworks to support business objectives and improvement initiatives.Build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of transparency and mutual success.Maximise commercial benefits through strategic contract negotiations and effective supplier performance management.Perform regular market analysis, undertaking reviews of pricing, contract terms, and performance indicators to ensure optimal outcomes and alignment with organisational goals.Identify and champion cost-saving projects and value improvements across the transformation program.What we're looking for We're seeking a talented professional who can bring a unique combination of expertise, leadership, and strategic insight to this role. Specifically, we're looking for someone with:
A strong track record in best-practice procurement and contract management, delivering value-driven outcomes.An ability to be outcome focused, aligning insights to strategic requirements with a strong customer focused lens.Proven experience in leading and motivating teams to meet and exceed business targets while fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.Advanced skills in handling complex contract negotiations and managing supplier relationships to achieve optimal results.The ability to design and execute innovative procurement strategies that align with organisational goals and deliver long-term benefits.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels, driving collaboration and shared success.Remuneration & Employment Type This is a fixed-term, fulltime position, based in Brisbane CBD with a starting base salary of $146,240 (prorated) and 12.75% superannuation and hybrid work options to support the balance between work and personal commitments.
