About the Role:
They have an opportunity for a Category Manager – Back of Wall products to drive the product strategy and growth of the back-of-wall product line, including plumbing rough-in, mounting, and in-wall systems.
This role will involve market research, product lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance the portfolio's profitability and market share.
Based in Brisbane north and reporting to the Marketing Manager your key responsibilities include:
Category Strategy Development Develop and execute category strategies to grow market share and drive profitability.
Conduct market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
Maximising sales, profit and market share growth Product Lifecycle Management Oversee product pricing strategies, SKU rationalization, and inventory optimization.
Work closely with supply chain, operations, and engineering teams to ensure product quality, availability, and cost efficiency.
Market Research and Competitive Analysis Analyse, interpret and report on category and sales data Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to develop promotional strategies and campaigns that support category objectives.
Sales and Financial Performance Tracking About you:
The successful candidate will be from the building, consumer goods, manufacturing or similar industries and bring expertise in category management, strategic planning, and, ideally but definitely not essential, an understanding of the DIY, plumbing and home improvement market.
You will be commercial and responsible for the achievement of key financial KPI's, negotiating and growing trade partner relationships, sourcing and development of the category products as well as delivering strategic initiatives in line with company objectives.
Other essential experience is:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field; MBA is a plus.
A proven success track record and experience in product/category management, ideally in manufacturing, building materials, consumer goods or industrial goods.
Maximise range that provides a competitive edge within the market.
Maximise long term supply agreements for lowest cost of doing business Manage and optimise profitability through inventory management, supplier negotiations, product development and sourcing strategies.
Strong analytical skills with experience in financial analysis and market research.
Knowledge of back-of-wall products or plumbing infrastructure systems is highly preferred.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Proven track record of category growth.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build solid working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Advanced analytical skills on Excel with the ability to use your findings to implement beneficial solutions.
You have +5 years' experience as a Category Manager in the above or similar industries and are looking for a new role with a growing company.
Your background will be able to demonstrate success and you will be able to travel regularly.
