Work for one of the most important Utilities company in Australia.Provide leadership to deliver strategic procurement and supply chain outcomes.About Our Client Our client is one of the major Utilities companies in Australia, serving more than 2 million residents in Queensland.Job Description The Category Management Lead/6-month Contract will have the following responsibilities: leading and development of procurement portfolios up to the value of $85M spend per annum and will autonomously lead highly complex end to end procurement activities with significant risk profiles and lifetime procurement values of up to $150M.Lead, develop, implement and manage a major portfolio of category plans in line with the organisation business strategy including the realisation of synergies, cost savings and risk-reduction, and/or optimisation of the portfolio to delivery best for business outcomes.Manage the delivery of a major part of the Urban Utilities contract management program for the portfolio supported, while taking personal responsibility for a limited number of mission-critical contracts.Identify contract requirements and write specifications for a large portfolio or area of the business for existing contracts and/or new contracts.Monitor, review, and highlight any gaps in the performance of a portfolio of major suppliers to recommend and ensure delivery of improvements by suppliers or to renegotiate or change contract/supplier.Collect and analyse the key cost drivers, market dynamics and issues, areas of innovation, and alternative suppliers for business-critical risk area(s) with few alternatives/high costs of changing, in consultation with relevant functions to provide solid market information for decision making.Develops tailored procurement and commercially optimal solutions which align with the corporate risk frameworks, assuring adherence to adherence to relevant legislation, legal principles and corporate policies/procedures and Queensland Government obligations.Identify and mitigate risk within assigned portfolios to ensure risk is managed in procurement activities undertaken.Support the implementation of a formal development framework for the procurement team, with guidance from senior colleagues.Support the leadership of the procurement team in developing and implementing category plans to support business objectives.Lead and facilitate stakeholders at all levels of the business in a category management approach to procurement, driving enhanced supplier relationships and improved contract management and assurance to ensure realisation of stated benefits and value.The Successful Applicant The successful Category Management Lead/6-month Contract is in possess of the following requirements: University Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain, Business or Equivalent 6-10 years of comprehensive experience in the development and implementation of category plans and complex contractual arrangements for corporate and site operations, construction as well as goods and or services type arrangements.Solid background in planning, managing and supervising resources within short / medium timescales within the overall policy framework.Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.What's on Offer Competitive salary, great work environment, training.
