About the roleWe are seeking a value driven Support Worker who will provide effective support to participants ensuring a safe and structured environment is maintained in accordance with TSA guidelines, within a participant lead recovery-based service.
You will successfullyParticipants accessing the service are provided with a welcoming and responsive initial contact and urgent and immediate needs are addressed during their stay at Townsville Recovery ServicesIn consultation with more senior worker/s appropriate preventative action is taken in relation to potential high-risk situationsFacilitation of daily activities and programs, which may include social activities, morning meetings and information groupsInformation is provided and documented to assist in assessing and addressing participant issues, needs and circumstancesEffective relationships are established with participants that encourage self-determination and participation and support them during their recoveryAssist Participants during medication times and ensure that medications are managed as per TSA guidelinesSupport Participants to be independent and to cohabitate harmoniously while staying at Townsville Recovery Services by ensuring all dwellings and common areas are maintained to a high standard.
You will haveMust have a certificate 3 in community services or higherPrevious experience in AOD / homelessness area and/or community servicesA current and valid First Aid CertificateA current driver licenceA current Working with Children check (Blue Card) is required This is a Casual, position located in Rowes Bay, Townsville QLD.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Level 3 Award.
