Classification: Casual Sessional AcademicSalary package: As per Casual Sessional Academic salary ratesTerms: Casual, commencing Semester 2 2024Position OverviewThe School of Sociology is seeking casual sessional academics (tutors) for Semester 2 2024 (22 July – 25 November 2024). Individuals with experience and expertise in the discipline of Sociology who are interested in teaching undergraduate courses, and inspiring students to learn sociological thinking, are encouraged to apply.As a casual sessional academic you will be involved in the delivery of Sociology courses with support, guidance and direction from a Course Convenor.Generally, the primary responsibility is leading tutorials, but may also entail other pedagogical activities planned by the Course Convenor. Other responsibilities may include holding student consultations, responding to student enquiries, mentoring and marking assessments.A tutor shall have qualification and/or experiences recognised by the institution as appropriate for the relevant discipline area.
