Job DescriptionCasual role with up to full time weekly hours available on occassionsOperating hours Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pmImmediate startBased in Burleigh Heads, QueenslandAs a Sample Preparation Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring all samples are appropriately receipted, sorted, prepared, packed and sent for analysis in a timely manner to achieve operational, customer and quality requirements.
This role will provide assistance and backup to the Sample Preparation Officer.
This autonomous role will focus on:
Receipting samples from walk-insChecking the PO Box for sample deliveriesEnsuring client details and test requirements are correctDrying samples in ovensGrinding of soils & plant samples as requiredAdequately packing and organising courier pickups using an online portalEnsuring the courier deadlines are metWorking in the fast-paced sample receipt and preparation areaEnsuring samples are completed in a timely manner and correct methods, procedures and work instructions are adhered toQualificationsWhat we are looking for to join our team Physically fit and comfortable with manual tasksAbility to follow procedures with absolute attention to detailExcellent numeracy, written and oral communication skillsGreat organisational skills and ability to multi-taskAble to be deadline focusedExperience in a commercial sample preparation laboratory would be advantageous but not a requirement to be successful in this role.
Rather, previous experience working in a fast-paced environment (e.g., fast food/hospitality/warehouse) would be highly regarded/beneficial for this role.
