About the role: We are currently offering a Sales Support Merchandise role focused on customer sales and stock control on a casual basis, with the outlook to make permanant in the future.
Reporting to the Branch Manager you will focus on long term goals, developing strong work skills and customer relationships.
Our customer base is broad and can include pastoral companies, local farmers, industries and government departments.
Our Longford merchandise business is focused on all facets of the Nutrien business, from seed, animal health, animal management, agronomy, rural merchandise, insurance and fertiliser.
The focus of your role is to provide exceptional service for all customers either in store or over the telephone, support other sales staff as well as be accountable for inwards and outwards stock movements, customer vehicle loading, maintaining the general merchandise part of the business and being able to deliver basic animal health advice to the instore customers.
At times there may also be the opportunity to be involved in the physical delivery of goods to local agricultural businesses.
Tasks are varied and you will need to show initiative and adaptability.
You will be trained in all aspects of customer service, processing counter sales, stock control, preparing orders for delivery, store merchandising and receivals.
In addition, you will respond promptly to customers queries, resolving issues to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction whilst maintaining a welcoming, friendly and well-presented store environment.
About you: You must demonstrate a passion for customer service, good communication skills as well as a positive approach and the determination to succeed.
You will be keen to learn all aspects of retail operations and sales as well as developing strong customer relationships Ideally you will have exposure to or an interest in farming and agriculture, including animal health, animal management, crop production and water supply.
Previous success in a retail sales or customer service role an advantage.
You will be a self-motivated person capable of showing initiative and efficient time allocation.
You will have the ability to follow through and "get the job done" in a busy environment.
A current driver's licence is required, and you will be required to have or be prepared to gain your licence to operate a forklift.
This is a casual position during business hours Monday to Friday.
Occasional after-hours work may be required.
