About UsWe are a progressive psychiatric practice specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of adults with neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly ADHD and ASD. Alongside our clinical work, we are committed to advancing the understanding of these disorders through translational research projects. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Casual Research Assistant to support a variety of research tasks under the guidance of our lead psychiatrist.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct literature reviews and summarise findings.Assist with data entry, processing, and basic statistical analysis.Support grant writing and referencing tasks.Contribute to the design of retrospective and prospective studies and assist with their documentation for presentations and reports.Draft and edit manuscripts for publication, including case reports and research articles.Utilise basic laboratory equipment for biological sample processing.Assist with research coordination, including preparing Human Research Ethics Approval applications and managing administrative tasks related to research projects.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree with Honours in Neuroscience or a related field.Skills and ExperienceFamiliarity with the neurobiology of ADHD and ASD, including current research directions and endophenotype research.Proficiency in using basic laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges) and experience with biological sample handling and processing.Basic understanding of biostatistics and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Excel).Strong organisational, interpersonal, and general administrative skills.Experience with literature reviews and academic referencing.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with academic and industry partners.Eagerness to learn and develop new skills.Higher degrees (e.g., Master's, PhD, or current enrollment in a higher degree program) in Neuroscience.Experience with advanced statistical techniques, such as Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).Familiarity with machine learning techniques, including Support Vector Machines (SVM).Knowledge of AI applications in biological research.Knowledge of functional brain networks and familiarity with functional connectivity studies.What We OfferAn opportunity to deepen your understanding of the neurobiology of neurodevelopmental disorders.A chance to contribute meaningfully to impactful research in ADHD and ASD.A supportive and collaborative work environment that fosters learning and professional growth.Flexible working hours to suit your schedule.If you are excited about contributing to meaningful research and meet the qualifications and experience outlined above, we would love to hear from you.
