Casual Remote Area Nurses (RANs) – Acute, Chronic, Child Health Mala'la Health Service is seeking experienced Remote Area Nurses to join our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team in Maningrida, NT.
As a Remote Area Nurse (RAN), you will provide high quality, evidence-based care; education for assigned health programs (e.g. Chronic Disease, Child Health, RHD); and participate in routine service delivery of vaccinations to the community through our community outreaches.
All successful applicants will have access to a range of benefits, including: At least 6 weeks placement in the community Competitive casual hourly rate of $77.68 — $86.57 Short or long-term locum placements Flights provided Fully subsidised accommodation provided Opportunity for on-call and overtime payments Ability to salary package up to $15,900 per annum, plus a further $2,650 per annum on Meals and Entertainment 11% Superannuation Clinical support, practice development and constructive feedback provided during placements Access to onsite education Flexibility for options of ongoing return contracts Ability to plan your year ahead by negotiating dates that work for you Work with a committed and passionate team Direct casual employment with Mala'la reduces the cost of employing individuals through Agencies, so the funds can be redirected back to the staff, health service and the community of Maningrida. About Mala'la Mala'la Health Service is a respected & accredited Aboriginal Corporation providing services to the seaside community of Maningrida (520 km east of Darwin), with a population of approximately 3,000 people. These services include Primary Health Care, Aged & Community Care, Family & Community Wellness, Drugs & Alcohol Services. Mala'la Health Service provides Primary Health Care services to Maningrida and surrounding homelands under a Community Control model.
The role will see you working in a remote Aboriginal Community. All applicants must have an understanding of, and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Aboriginal people living in remote settings.

Current AHPRA Registration and Practicing Certificate as a Registered Nurse Current Remote Emergency Care Course certificate and/or Advanced Life Support certificate Current accredited Immunisation certificate (recognised in the NT) Remote Pharmacotherapeutic Certificate (or equivalent) Manual Driver's License Min 5 years broad nursing experience post registration and 3 years working in a primary health-related field in a remote context, with advanced clinical skills and competencies applicable to remote settings (including the ability to triage, work independently and participate in emergency calls and First Response) Mala'la Health Service is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all staff and clients of our Health Care Centre.
