The Wesley College at Clunes residential program provides our Year 9 students with the opportunity to learn about themselves, the wider community and our Australian culture in the unique setting of the small Victorian town of Clunes, 35 kilometres northwest of Ballarat.
The focus for the 8-week program is upon education of the whole person.
Emphasis is given to experiential, social and emotional learning, independent inquiry, community engagement and shared living.
Applications are invited from outstanding applicants for a Casual position of a Program Assistant at Wesley Clunes.
In making this appointment, the College is seeking applicants who, among other qualities, can demonstrate the following: Depending on skills and experience, Program Assistants may be asked to assist in overnight outdoor trips, environmental education, campus work and field trips, art and craft sessions, budget and shopping supervision of students, assistance and creation of the campus on-line newsletter, community service and sport and physical recreation sessions.
There is an expectation that Program Assistants will have the capacity to develop the skills to coordinate aspects of the program including campus meetings, supervision of study and quiet times, and social events.
To liaise with members of Clunes staff in the facilitation of communication with the teaching and non-teaching members of College/campus staff.
Provide support to students who are sick or in need of medical attention and care.
