About the Job We are seeking energetic dog and cat lovers to join our team of passionate Pet Care & Animal Attendants at our Melbourne Pet Hotel & Doggy Daycare located in Tullamarine.
Shifts are rostered between the hours of 6am and 7pm including school holidays, public holidays and Christmas/Easter periods.
The average weekly hours is 15-22 hours with expectation that you can flex up to 38 hours per week during peak periods.
The key accountabilities of the role will include animal welfare, cleaning and customer service.
Successful candidates will be responsible for the provision of high-quality pet welfare and providing care for both boarding pet guests and doggy daycare guests which includes cleaning kennels, feeding pets, basic washing/grooming, and exercising of pets.
Our Petcare/Animal Attendants also provide excellent customer service when engaging with our clients at pick up and drop off.
About You You are reliable, motivated and hard working , with genuine affection for cats and dogs.
To be a high performer in this role, you will be: Experienced in caring for cats and dogs - pet-sitting, dog-walking, vet clinics, doggy daycares, boarding kennels or catteries (preferred).
Available to work rotating rostered shifts, and willing/available to work extra shifts during school holidays/peak periods.
Flexible and able to cover planned leave, as well as unplanned absences, sometimes at short notice.
Prepared to jump at the chance to help others in your team.
Able to work at a brisk pace and carry out tasks to required timeframes to satisfy productivity expectations.
Able to work independently, and willing to ask for guidance for more complex matters.
Passionate about companion animals.
A good communicator and positive person who enjoys teamwork.
A licensed driver with regular access to a car (and clean driving record) to get to/from work.
Committed to working safely, and following Standard Operating Procedures.
Willing and able to adhere to Hanrob Pet Hotels' operating procedures and work health and safety requirements at all times.
IMPORTANT: This is an active and physical role working across the Pet Hotel.
In addition to office-based work, the incumbent will be required to work indoors and outdoors (sometimes in inclement weather conditions, and in close proximity to cats and dogs, on their feet for a significant portion of their day.
They must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, bend, crouch, kneel, squat, reach, stretch, and restrain animals up to 50kg on leads, communicate, speak, and interact with team members, customers, internal and external stakeholders, and members of the public in person, over the phone, and online, and occasionally take difficult conversations, including providing critical feedback and receiving complaints, in order to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
