The Shire of Capel is located in the South West, halfway between Bunbury and Busselton. We are nestled between the beach and the forest and are one of the fastest growing coastal Shires in Australia. As a Community Ranger you play a vital role in promoting understanding of, and compliance, with the relevant acts, regulations, local laws and Council policies that ensure community safety, and initiate and implement fair, consistent and transparent enforcement of these laws where required. This is a varied and rewarding role providing opportunities to connect with the community, work autonomously and within a team, and exercise a high degree of responsibility in your work.
Our Ranger Services team works a rotating Monday - Sunday roster and provide an after-hours on call service, with applicable shift loading and allowances.

Behaviour that positively demonstrates the Shire's HEART of: Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and TeamworkPrevious experience as a Ranger or Law Enforcement OfficerHigh level of verbal and written communication skills, including public relations experienceDemonstrated high level of teamworkAbility to effectively use a range of electronic devices and programsAbility to undertake physical work including a lifting requirementPolice clearancePrevious community safety experience and off-road driving skills would be advantageous. Qualifications in Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills 1 and 2, or Certificate III or IV in Local Government Law Enforcement will be highly regarded.
