About the role: Based at our busy Port of Sale & Bairnsdale Campuses, an exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Canteen Attendant to join our team in a casual capacity to assist with leave coverage across the two sites (approx.
10 hours per fortnight with the option to increase during busy peaks).
The Canteen Attendant is responsible for preparing and serving hot and cold food and beverages to TAFE Gippsland Staff and Students, whilst maintaining a safe and hygienic workplace and following established food hygiene procedures and practices.
The Canteen Attendant provides excellent customer service and promotes a strong customer focus.
Qualifications and experience: Previous hospitality experience working in a canteen, cafeteria, or café environmentExperience with the preparation and serving of hot and cold food and beveragesA thorough understanding of occupational health and safety and safe food handling practicesCookery and food preparation skillsExcellent organisational and time management skillsAbility to work as part of a cohesive team in a busy environmentAbility to work independently under pressure and meet deadlinesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsWillingness to learn with a can-do attitudeMandatory requirements: Current Victorian Working with Children ClearanceCurrent Police Check (not older than 12 months)Current Driver's License (some travel between campuses is a requirement of the role)Benefits: Employment with a progressive employerA great culture and supportive team environmentAccess to an Employee Assistance ProgramFull on-the-job training and supportHow to apply: To apply for this position please visit the TAFE Gippsland website.
