About the role
The Hansard Broadcasting unit supports the video production and broadcasting requests for Parliament of Victoria's various Departments.
The Broadcast Officer role includes filming and editing digital content both in studio and on location along with live camera operation and vison switching of Parliament's sitting day and live committee broadcasts. Studio control room operations is an advantage however the emphasis on skill set for the role, is filming and editing; and comprehensive control room training will be offered to the right applicant.
As a Broadcast Officer the focus will be to produce video content for a range of parliamentary departments, in doing so your responsibilities will include:
Collaborating with internal colleagues to produce contentManaging video shoots (sometimes as a one-person crew)Operating equipment for shoots including DSLR cameras, ENG cameras, Teleprompters, Lighting, Microphones and Sound mixersDirecting on screen talentThe live to air broadcasts and control room roles' responsibilities include:

You will be a confident communicator who is competent in all aspects of production, from pre-production and filming to final edits within a corporate style guideline that ensures high quality, creative outputs. You will have a collaborative and innovative work approach, with strong problem-solving and technical skills in all aspects of production. You demonstrate great initiative, and you are a natural problem solver. You will be experienced in the Adobe Suite and be technically competent in Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop. You will have the willingness to learn studio control room operations and to develop ongoing production skills as required.
