The Whitsunday region offers a dynamic environment and is perfectly placed to live, work, play and invest.The RoleAn exciting opportunity exists within our Infrastructure Services directorate for a Casual Asset Technical Officer. This role is essential for advancing Whitsunday Regional Councils asset management and maintenance planning initiatives. The position focuses on enhancing asset data to ensure sustainable governance of the Council's Water, Wastewater, and Waste infrastructure.Key responsibilities include: governance and process mapping for critical tasks, as well as developing templates and guidelines to promote a consistent and efficient approach across the Council, all while considering the Council's quadruple bottom line and risk appetite.EssentialIPWEA Professional Certificate in Asset Management Planning or similar with relevant work experience within a Civil Infrastructure capacity, OR a minimum 5 years' experience in development technical documentation associated with asset management.A technical understanding of construction practices and treatment selection in order to optimise the performance of the asset, taking into consideration life cycle costs, environmental factors and improvements for the infrastructure users.Demonstrated understanding of strategic asset management principles and practices.Demonstrated experience in successfully working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated advanced computer literacy, with the ability to utilise financial, mapping software, records management, project management, asset management and Microsoft Office suite of programs. Demonstrated problem solving skills in a dynamic work environment, with the ability to make sound recommendations and decisions.Must possess and maintain a current Queensland "C" Class motor vehicle driver's licence.DesirablePrevious experience is expected in the water industry with experience in treatment operations/management an advantage.Apply NowTo view the position description please click on the job attachments tab above.
