School of Political Science & International Studies Multiple Casual Academic positions Closing date: 6 January 2025 at 11.00pm AEST About This Opportunity This is a call for applicants for Casual Academics in the School of Political Science and International Studies in support of our course offerings in Semester 1 2025. Casual Academics will typically be engaged in a range of duties, including (but not limited to) tutoring, marking, teaching, and moderating/facilitating. Casual Academics are remunerated according to the category of their duties, as detailed in UQ's Enterprise Agreement.
Please click HERE for a list of POLS courses, plus one PPES and one POLY course which are likely to need tutors. Please indicate a maximum of six courses you are interested in teaching into. Although you will be asked to state why you have picked a course, your response is optional.
NB: Tutoring opportunities are reliant on course enrolment numbers and some courses at postgraduate level may not attract sufficient enrolments to require a tutor.

What We Can Offer These are casual appointments. As such, there is no firm advance commitment to ongoing or indefinite work. The casual rate will vary as per the work completed. The 2025 standard hourly pay rate is currently $53.21 per hour ($62.94 for PhD-qualified).
