Why this role matters The Doorways to Parenting program operates within the Tasmanian Division of The Salvation Army Southern Territory (TSA).
Doorways to Parenting is a family-focused program aimed at maintaining strong family relationships and improving connections with all community stakeholders to achieve better outcomes for the community, parents, and children.
Doorways to Parenting endeavours to support the community as part of a proactive investment in the next generation, by building self-supportive communities that have less dependence on welfare support.
About the role We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Case Worker!
You will be responsible for providing support to parents through holistic parenting support programs and intensive case work service.
Reporting to the Doorways to Parenting Lead Practitioner and State Manager, this is a Permanent, Part-time (22.8 hours per week) position based in Howrah, TAS.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 4.
This position will commence from January 2025.
You will successfully Implement the delivery and development of Doorways to Parenting specific and innovative group programs as required Assist the family/client to develop supportive/positive relationships with family or significant others where appropriate Clients are assisted to access specialised support services and establish community supports Individual case work plans are developed in collaboration with clients and include a range of interventions Engage and maintain contact with families in order to stabilise and reduce high-risk behaviour through playgroups, educational programs, and internal referral into case management and intensive family support You will have Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or equivalent field Relevant experience in a social service environment would be recognised An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote, support and model the values and ethos of The Salvation Army Energetic and flexible team player with a positive attitude Requirement to undertake a criminal history check and any other relevant checks as required Sound computer literacy Training in relevant evidence-based parenting programs, including but not limited to, Circle of Security, Bringing up Great Kids. A current and valid Driver's Licence Current First Aid Certificate A current and valid Working with Vulnerable People Check (Child Related Activity) What we offer As a registered NFP we offer our eligible employees real and meaningful benefits such as:
