You will provide immediate solutions for those who are sleeping rough in North West Tasmania. Additionally, you will provide safe shelter at night with emotional wellbeing and physical support to those who use the program. Responsibilities includeAssess each participant to ensure it is safe to provide shelter for the nightCollect brief personal data about their current situation (with their consent)Provide participants with information about support services they can access to assist them move into transitional housing/supportDevelop short individual plan to identify and assess their immediate needsAcquire and maintain a good working knowledge of health and AOD servicesThis is a casual position, based in Burnie, TAS. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 4 Award.What you will haveRelevant vocational or tertiary qualifications and/or a minimum of 5 years relevant experienceMinimum Certificate III level qualification in a relevant disciplineProfessional development required to maintain skills for the roleExperience in Social Work, Community Welfare, Mental Illness, Drug & Alcohol dependency, nursing or other relevant experienceDemonstrated ability to work with vulnerable individuals and people under the influence of drugs and alcoholCommitment to the mission and values of The Salvation ArmyA Current TAS Driver's LicenceBenefits working at The Salvation ArmyWe offer our eligible employees NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefitsEmployee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling serviceDiscounted health and fitness programs through Fitness PassportAn inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate, and professional team membersPositively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contributionApplications will close as soon as a suitable candidate is secured.
