About the Role Mercy Community Services has an opportunity for a qualified and passionate Case Worker to join their Family Intervention Program .
This is a Permanent Full-Time position based in Toowoomba.
Our Family Intervention Program supports families who are working with Child Safety Services to meet the goals of their Case Plan.
The Family Intervention Program is open to all families engaged in ongoing Child Safety Services processes, whether their children are living in the family home or in an out-of-home care arrangement.
$85,126 - $91,588 per annum (SCHADS L4) plus superannuation plus generous salary packaging available What you'll be doing Your primary duties include (but not limited to): Work collaboratively with families and key stakeholders, to support each family to function in ways that promote the safety and wellbeing of children within the family group Assess all dimensions of family resources (including extra familial) Assist families to action Child Safety case plan goals utilising their own resources wherever possible and connecting to relevant support services where appropriate Deliver evidence-based programs and provide interventions to develop family's knowledge and skills to increase safety and wellbeing of children within the family unit Maintain a current awareness of community resources to broaden options available to vulnerable families as appropriate and work collaboratively with these services in the interests of the family Work in structured, time-focussed ways with families across a range of settings (some work in family homes) to encourage and support family goal achievement with a view to sustainable outcomes and timely withdrawal of services Maintain an evidence-informed dialogue with Child Safety Services Make recommendations to Child Safety Services regarding decisions involving children About you As the successful applicant, you will possess: Degree in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology or related discipline from a recognised institution Sound knowledge and understanding of the Queensland Child Protection system Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver's Licence Ability to obtain positive notice in the legislatively required personal history check in line with service stream compliance requirements Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain Previous experience in strengths-based casework with complex families will be favourable Why Mercy Community Mercy Community is a Catholic not-for-profit that provides a wide range of services supporting families and young people, people living with a disability and the elderly.
