Are you passionate about supporting individuals and families impacted by Domestic Family Sexual Violence (DFSV)? We're looking for a dedicated DFSV Case Worker to join our client, working closely with the Director of Therapeutic Programs, Wellbeing, and Self-determination. In this role, you will provide practical support to clients and assist in ensuring they reach their individual goals as outlined in their case plans.
The organisation is dedicated to supporting individuals and families impacted by Domestic Family Sexual Violence (DFSV) through a holistic and client-centered approach. It is deeply rooted in principles of gender equality, trauma-informed care, and empowerment, aiming to create a safe and supportive environment for those in need.
Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain strong relationships with external service providers and government agencies, focusing on primary health care, recovery, and healing in the DFSV sector. Develop, implement, and evaluate individual client-centred case plans in collaboration with women impacted by DFSV. Carry out day-to-day tasks associated with the provision of case plans, empowering clients to take ownership of their progress. Assist with client intake and exit planning, providing support based on trauma-informed principles and practices. Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals across the organization, supporting and advocating for women impacted by DFSV. Contribute to internal policy development, service planning, and evaluation, ensuring records and reports are accurate and comply with legal obligations. Teamwork: Use your confident interpersonal and communication skills to support, influence, and encourage others. Lead by example with sound decision-making skills, honesty, and integrity. Contribute to a productive work environment, meeting deadlines, and effectively delegating tasks. Foster an "open door policy" and maintain visibility in areas of responsibility. Operate successfully in a culturally diverse work environment. Selection Criteria:Essential: Tertiary qualifications in Community Work, Social Work, Welfare, Counselling, or a related discipline. Experience working with families impacted by DFSV, using a flexible, trauma-informed, and client-centred approach. Ability to manage difficult situations effectively and independently, with a focus on planning and prioritizing workload. Strong understanding of contemporary family, domestic, and sexual violence issues, with a commitment to gender equality and women's rights. Desirable: Experience working with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, LGBTQIA+, migrant, culturally and linguistically diverse, neurodivergent, and people with disabilities. Fluency in a community language other than English. Experience in feminist not-for-profit organizations and advocacy for women's rights.
