About the role As a Caseworker you will coordinate casework responsibilities for children and young people (CYP) within Westhaven's Intensive Therapeutic Care for Children and Young People with Significant Disability (ITC-SD) program.
Key responsibilities Work as part of a Therapeutic Care Team, managing the casework cycle for children and young people in care Ensure Case Plans are developed, reviewed and implemented within set timeframes Maintain regular contact with children and young people, seek their views and opinions and monitor their wellbeing Ensure that data is collected and recorded in a timely way Ensure that Casework is conducted consistent with the requirements of the NSW Office of the Children's Guardian (OCG) To be on the forefront of this opportunity you will: Have knowledge and understanding of the Children and Young Person (Care and Protection) Act 1998, NSW Child Safe Standards for Permanent Care and trauma informed practices Understand the supports and issues of children and young people living with significant disabilities Have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal communities, families and children specifically in relation to the placement of Aboriginal children and young people in OOHC Be proficient in report writing, have demonstrated ability to develop, organise and maintain records in a timely manner using client management databases and Google Suite (or similar) Have highly developed organisational skills, communication skills and conflict resolutions skills Highly desirable attributes include: Experience in case management, child protection, child welfare practice or related field Experience working with people with a disability Ability to coordinate the development, implementation and review Case Plans for children in out-of-home care Essential requirements of the role Bachelor degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a relevant Behavioural Science; or be of Indigenous descent and be willing to obtain qualifications A current NSW Driver's licence Undertake a National Criminal Record Check The ability to obtain and maintain a paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) The ability to obtain and maintain a National Disability Insurance Scheme Workers Check (NDISWC) Appropriately vaccinated against Covid-19 and able to provide evidence About applying Please submit your CV and a cover letter addressing your abilities to undertake the key responsibilities of this role.
