Permanent full-time role based in Wiradjuri Country, Orange NSW!

About the role   Our Family Preservation program delivers targeted, voluntary child protection services to families with children who are at high risk of entering or escalating within the statutory child protection system.
The program aims to reduce risks and strengthen families to reduce the number of children entering Out of Home Care.
Partnering with a small number of at risk families, you will undertake an initial assessment of the family's strengths and needs.
Your case plans will empower families to make lasting change, build upon their resilience to reduce the risk of significant harm and make referrals to appropriate networks.
Duties   Undertake an initial assessment of family strengths and needs.
Develop case plans that build on the family's resilience to enable them to overcome identified risks.
Provide intensive home visiting.
Provide intervention through the use of evidence informed practices, partnering with other services and supporting the family to shape their next chapter.

Skills and Experience   Relevant industry experience is essential and/or tertiary qualification in Social Work, Welfare or Psychology or related discipline is highly desirable.
Be recognised within the community as a respected, culturally safe person.
Ability to actively and respectfully engage and assess Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander families.
Experience identifying and addressing child protection concerns.
High level written and verbal communication, it's important to document our work.
Current drivers license (pool cars are available so you don't need to use your own vehicle).
