About the role The role of the Family Service Case Support is to work cooperatively with VACCA's Family Services programs to ensure a high-quality and culturally appropriate service are accessible to children and families who are affiliated with the organisation.
There are a range of programs at VACCA that offer different services to families, and your role will be to develop casework skills by shadowing casework staff as they continue to provide better outcomes for children and families.
As part of the role, you will be actively holding families that are going to be allocated to Family Services case managers.
You will be providing support and guidance where needed; this may include transport to appointments, financial support, and what is needed to support our families.
About You Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA's vision and purpose Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities Experience and/or ability to work with Aboriginal children and families in a culturally respectful and competent manner Ability to engage vulnerable children, young people, their families, and their carers in outreach work activities. Sound administration skills – including ability to record case notes, maintain files, and use computer databases Proven and sound time management skills, communication skills, reliability, accountability, and commitment to high quality client service. Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy Proven ability to work in a team and independently Ability to work out of normal business hours as required by the role Requirements: You must have and continue to hold a full Victorian Driver's Licence and a current employment working with children check card Contribute positively and proactively to team and organisation wide OH&S activities.
