A range of face to face and online learning opportunities About the Role Barnardos are looking for a full-time permanent Case Manager for the Kinship Care Program based in Auburn 2144 The Case Manager will be responsible for; Providing individual casework support to children and young people.
Including ongoing assessment of needs and case management of required supports to ensure children and young people receive the care they need.
Developing case plans for all children and young people through consultation and review with relevant parties annually.
Undertaking the role of primary support worker, developing a positive and respectful relationship with the child and family.
This involves home visits as required to address relevant issues within the framework of Barnardos policies and practices.
Working in partnership with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) Facilitating and supervising contact with birth parents as required Assessing and providing recommendation of potential restorations where appropriate Providing ongoing support to Kinship Care placements as required using a family support practice approach.
Participating in developing and conducting group support and training for kinship carers Liaising with other services working with the family.
Providing accurate information regarding Barnardos Auburn Kinship Care Program to current and prospective Kinship Carers Assessing and providing recommendation of potential permanent and/or respite kin carers using the ACWA Step by Step Carer Assessment Tool.
About You As a Case Manager, you will ideally have; A degree (or tertiary qualification) in Social Work or a related area Knowledge of issues surrounding abuse and neglect of children, and the impact of trauma on childhood development Understanding of the case management requirements of the PSP/OOHC system Understanding of the different support needs of relative and kinship carers to foster carers Previous experience working in PSP/OOHC, child protection, or Intensive Family Support in a caseworker role Demonstrated experience and commitment to working with disadvantaged children and families in situations where additional support is needed About the Organisation Barnardos Australia is one of Australia's leading children's social care agencies, focused on building relationships between children, young people, their families and the community.

Salary: Base $73,804 to $94,324 per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation.

To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
