The Migration Support Program provides help and support to refugees, people seeking asylum, people in immigration detention and other people who are vulnerable as a result of migration.
About the role The Case Manager is responsible for providing quality case management and resettlement assistance to eligible refugees and humanitarian entrants in the Humanitarian Settlement Program.
This role will provide tailored case management to clients that recognises their individual strengths and needs, and assist new arrivals build the skills and knowledge they need to become self-reliant and active members of the community.
You will be required as part of your day-to-day travel to attend meetings, undertake client home visits or transport clients to meetings with other services.
Red Cross vehicles are provided for this travel.
About you Previous experience in providing high quality case management support is essential.Demonstrated understanding of how to holistically assess complex client needs, including conducting risk assessments and developing effective case plans and safety planning.Demonstrated cultural competence and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds who have experienced grief, loss, torture, and trauma and who experience ongoing safety risks.A sound understanding of the social and political issues and needs impacting migrants in transition (including people seeking asylum, trafficked people and people who have been forced into marriage).Demonstrated effectiveness in contributing to interagency collaboration and ability to lead collaboration, advocate and network with internal and external stakeholders (who can include statutory and law enforcement agencies).Proven capacity to be adaptive and resilient and to work independently in a self-directed manner, and also as a member of a team.Qualifications When working with clients referred to Specialised and Intensive Services (Tier 3), Case Managers must have, as a minimum, one of the following qualifications (or an equivalent alternate qualification):Bachelor of Social Work, orBachelor of Psychological Services.For all other clients supported through the HSP, Case Managers must possess an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level 5 Diploma with units related to case management or working with vulnerable people.An Australian Driver's License and Working with Children are mandatory requirements for this role.

Salary from $85,145.84 + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
