$67,191 + super + not for profit salary packaging benefits Permanent Part Time Contract – 4 days a week.Real Work/Life balance!Location: Darwin 0800 Make a meaningful difference to the lives of Australians in need Life at Mission Australia When you join the team at Mission Australia, you become part of a community who are determined to end homelessness and ensure people in need can thrive.United by our Christian purpose and values, we stand together with anyone who needs us, for as long as they need us.Find out more about us and our purpose.Your Opportunity The Pre and Post Release Support Service (PPRSS) is a voluntary service dedicated to assisting eligible adult prisoners in Darwin as they prepare for release and reintegrate into the community.Our program supports individuals three months prior to their release and continues to provide comprehensive case management as they transition back into society.We are committed to addressing housing and homelessness issues faced by adult prisoners and offenders.Our goal is to equip participants with essential life skills, foster healthy family/kin relationships, and support them in overcoming challenges related to alcohol and drug dependency, tenancy, training, and employment.As a Pre and Post Release Coordinator, you will play a vital role in helping offenders successfully reintegrate into the community.* We strongly encourage people who identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander to apply * Your Key Responsibilities Respond to referrals to the service from internal and external support services.Complete assessments and intake processes for allocated people, including all necessary paperwork and data entry.Provide intensive ongoing person-centred, culturally aware, solution focused case management for inmates/offenders with complex needs.Work with your client to develop holistic and strength-based case plans.Create and maintain comprehensive individual case management files for all allocated people in line with Mission Australia protocols with regular plan reviews.Advocate for your clients and refer to appropriate services as required.Assist clients with the process of transition from the service into independent living.Complete a range of other administrative duties for the efficient running of the service including statistics, reports, referral letters, goal plans etc Requirements for Success With a significant background in Correctional Services/Justice System with Social Work, Psychology and/or Community Services sectors, you will be confident in your case management and culturally aware assessment processes.Other requirements include: Degree or diploma in community services or other relevant qualifications, with at least one year's experience working with people who have complex needs.Demonstrated ability to provide specialised or complex therapeutic interventions and manage a caseload of clients who live with confronting challenges.Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.A positive and person-centred approach with a strong guiding belief about everyone's capacity to self-right and grow within and beyond their current circumstances.A sound understanding of prison release and community and family reintegration.Comfortable working autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team across diverse inter-organisational relationships.Experience building effective, positive working relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in a community service setting and sound knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.Must have Full driver licence with no restrictions.Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.Our Culture Our innovative and inclusive culture will ensure you feel valued at Mission Australia as you help Australians in need and develop in your career.We prioritise the safety and wellbeing of everyone, both within our team and the individuals we serve.We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive working environment.We actively support and encourage people of all backgrounds;
