The Workers' Compensation Case Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of workers' compensation claims for injured workers within a self-insured framework.
This role involves coordinating medical care, facilitating return-to-work programs, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
The Case Manager will collaborate with medical providers, employees, and management to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities: Claims Management:Oversee the lifecycle of workers' compensation claims - either in the front end (0 – 72 weeks) or long term (73+ weeks).Review and assess claims to determine compensability, strategy, and appropriate benefits.Medical Coordination:Liaise with medical professionals to ensure timely and appropriate medical care for injured workers.Monitor treatment plans and facilitate communication between healthcare providers and injured workers.Return-to-Work Programs:Develop and implement return-to-work plans that accommodate an injured worker's recovery.Collaborate with customer management and injured workers to facilitate a smooth transition back to work.Compliance and Reporting:Ensure compliance with state and federal workers' compensation regulations.Support:Provide guidance and support to injured workers throughout the claims process.Educate injured workers on their rights, benefits, and responsibilities under workers' compensation laws.Data Analysis and Reporting:Analyse claims data to identify trends and areas for improvement.Prepare reports for management on claim status, outcomes, and recommendations for enhancements.Qualifications: Education:Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field is desirable.Experience:Minimum of 3 years of experience in workers' compensation case management, preferably in a self-insured environment.Skills:Strong knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and prioritise effectively.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Work Environment: This position may require occasional travel to various company locations or medical facilities.A flexible working model is used, providing both work-from-home and office-based. #J-18808-Ljbffr
