Our Team – Vanguard Super Operations

The Vanguard Super Operations team enables the delivery of the defined member experience and operating model, ensuring cost effective and efficient services are delivered to the fund through partnership with outsourced providers. Our Operations team are also responsible for managing the relationships with providers and monitoring services delivered, ensuring they support our value proposition and meet member expectations.

As part of this team we are recruiting a Case Manager to assist with overseeing insurance related operational processes and claims management of death, total and permanent disablement, income protection, terminal illness and early release claims.

What you will do
Communicate effectively with members or their beneficiaries, displaying high levels of empathy and service when liaising on claim processes and outcomes.

Ensure fair and timely assessment of claim decisions made by the insurer in line with policy terms, processes, service levels and legislation.

Complete comprehensive reviews of claims declined by the insurer and provide recommendations and rationale to the Claims Management Committee.

Ensure non-standard and declined underwriting decisions made by the insurer are fair and reasonable

Facilitate end to end death claim process including provision of forms, collating relevant documents, issuing claim staking, follow up and provide recommendations.

Assessment of Early Release Claims including Financial Hardship and Compassionate Grounds claims.

Provide Case Management support and coordination of responses for complex Member Queries including underwriting cases.

What we are looking for
Undergraduate degree in a related field is desirable and any relevant post graduate qualifications would be highly regarded

Demonstrated insurance and claims related experience within a superannuation setting

Demonstrated experience in managing matters of high complexity, sound problem solving, resolution and decision-making abilities

Demonstrated experience effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders, within a dynamic and fast-paced environment

RG146 Superannuation and Insurance qualified

Specialisations that will make an impact
Knowledge of regulatory framework and environment including the SIS Act, Stronger Super, APRA prudential standards and Insurance Voluntary Code of Practice

Experience working within a superannuation fund and with external outsourced partners

RG146 Superannuation and Insurance qualified

Experience with agile practices
