The backbone of our company is a self-reliant network of offices and air & ocean hubs in over 67 countries.We are currently seeking a Cartage Coordinator to join our team in Melbourne.Key responsibilitiesPre-Plan transport to meet client's requests and maximize profit.Customer contact to help focus on transport bookings and to meet deliveries deadlines.Chase customer/GEODIS operators/service providers for any special requirements.Monitor cargo, damaged/pilfered cargo and handling of any claims arising.Prepare documentation for transport companies and ensure all customs and AQIS procedures have been carried out and met.Organise daily pick up and deliveries from FCL, LCL, Airfreight depots.Validate carrier charges before posting for payment.Liaise with shipping lines, overseas GEODIS offices and agents, freight forwarders, carriers, internal and external customers to ensure smooth movement of documentation and freight.Skills and experience3+ Years Industry ExperienceExperience with EDI-Cargo Wise software strongly preferred.Proficient in Microsoft programs.Knowledge of Freight Forwarding and accountancy practices preferred.Knowledge of Customs and Quarantine procedures required.Strong communication, time management & problem-solving skills.At GEODIS, we believe that diversity and inclusion are essential components of our success.
