About the company: Well Grounded Building is a progressive, earth loving building team specializing in low impact homes, using traditional construction methods to achieve a low carbon footprint. We have experience in delivering small and medium size works in the construction industry by building commercial, education and residential projects.  We are looking for a suitable candidate for the position of Carpenter responsible to build, install and repair wooden structures, fittings, etc on the construction site. The position will be the main point of contact for site-related queries, expected to manage delays and problems encountered on site, and will be pivotal in ensuring the quality and the safety of the site is maintained.  Key responsibilities & duties: Study and interpret drawings and specifications to determine materials needed and installation approach to be used. Select and order timber/materials and prepare layouts accordingly. Use power tools to cut materials, prepare layouts and assemble to form structures Create building frameworks, floors, roofs or other items and install them as per layout Install door, windows and hardware fixtures such as door handles, locks, insulating materials or underlay Fit and install skirting boards, architraves and other decorative molding to enhance the aesthetic appeal of interiors. Coordinate with other tradesman such as plumbers, electricians to ensure timely completion of the work Track variations onsite, assist with value management, and help keep projects within budget. Ensure compliance with building codes, manage quality inspections, and handle defect management. Keep sites clean and sort waste properly and ensure compliance with environmental policies to avoid fines. Qualifications, Work experience and Skills: Minimum Certificate III in Carpentry Minimum of 2-3 years' experience working as a qualified carpenter Australian work experience is essential. Good mathematical skills Attention to detail  Excellent time management skills and communication skills Physically fit to lift heavy materials First Aid Certificate White Card Licence Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred.  If this sounds like the role for you, please apply via the facilities provided on this website.
