The reason PEDERSEN NT was able to establish and has continued to thrive over the past 25 years has been because we continually extended our regional development opportunities, support other local businesses and understand the local environment in which we work.About the role:Pedersen NT Pty Ltd are currently seeking qualified carpenters to join our busy team and form part of a wider construction team that is led by a site supervisor to deliver housing projects in remote communities of Central Australia. This position will require you to work in remote communities for a period of time before rotating back into Alice Springs for days off (approximately 10 days on-site, followed by 4 days off). The role includes travel to and from your assigned community, accommodation and meals whilst onsite. You will need to arrange accommodation whilst in Alice Springs on days off. This is not a FIFO position.What We're Looking For:Experience: You must have proven experience in carpentry, with a track record of successfully completing projects.Adaptability: Our work environments can vary, so thinking on your feet and adapting to site-specific needs is crucial.Tools: Bring your own tools—we value self-sufficiency and resourcefulness.Tasks will include, but are not limited to:Interpret drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures.Select appropriate materials for different types of jobs.Prepare materials by machining, cutting, sanding, etc.Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.Assemble components of buildings such as foundations, plates, bearers, noggings, window seals, door jams, trusses, beams, purlins, rafters, etc.Prepare footings for concrete work.Erect framework and roof framing, lay sub-flooring and floorboards, and verify trueness of structures.Nail fascia panels, sheath roofs, and fit exterior wall cladding and door and window frames.Nail and screw all types of roofing, including corrugated iron, trim deck, clip lock, etc.Assemble prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install.Fit and install window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter's level, plumb bob, and laser levels.Install all second fix furniture.Prepare contracts for handover.Prepare and install flashings.Maintain a clean workplace.About You:Trade Qualification – Carpenter (Cert III in Construction), or similar.Supply your own tools and swag.Be prompt, assisting the Site Supervisor and team as required.Always represent yourself and the Company professionally.Effective and supportive communication style with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures, and capabilities.Commitment to quality output, with a sense of pride in what you deliver.Ensure your work is kept in a safe and tidy manner.Adhere to company workplace policies and procedures.Compensation:The remuneration package will be negotiated based on your qualifications, skills, and fit with our team.
