This is done through incentive programs that develop Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with maintaining & reviving their traditional practices in Cultural Heritage and Environmental protection.The project coordinator is required to work with the First Nations people to manage and protect the natural and cultural resources of the Granite Creek region, foster local community's input and ownership of the resources and manage Rangers who carry out specific land management and environmental activities.1. POSITION OBJECTIVESTo successfully deliver the work schedules under the Working on Country project.Work collaboratively with Gurang and Goreng Goreng people to manage and protect natural and cultural resources of the region.Support and manage a team of Rangers in the implementation of funded initiatives.Ensure the employment and accredited training of Indigenous Rangers.2. KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and implement a four-year management plan, including integrated annual plans, to meet strategic organisational objectives and deliver on the Working on Country project.Supervise and coordinate Rangers under that plan.Manage, monitor and evaluate projects according to outputs and ensuring delivery of milestones within specific timeframe, resources and budget.Identify and address community concerns by interaction, contact and communication.Establish and enable networking for community consultation.Develop and write milestone reports for funded initiatives.Oversee professional guidance on cultural and natural resource management including maintenance of local Indigenous language.ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSResponsible to: Steering committee and Managing DirectorSupervision of: Rangers, AdministratorEXTENT OF AUTHORITYOperates under general direction of the Managing Director3.
