Job DescriptionPosition PurposeThis is a Permanent Part Time role to support Certis with Cargo Screening Operations across the TGE Launceston site.This is a great role for someone who would like a second job!The shift hours are from 1730-2130 (4hrs) Monday to Thursday, totaling 16hrs per week.Security Award Level 3 rates, plus aviation allowance payable on each hour worked!Workplace Health & SafetyTake reasonable care for your own health and safety and the health and safety of other people in the workplace.Comply with health and safety policies and procedures, including the investigation and reporting of hazards and incidents to your manager.Comply with any reasonable instruction related to health and safety.Do not interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interest of health and safety.Understand and reinforce the requirements of HSE to keep our people safe.Meet company HSE requirementsKey ResponsibilitiesCargo Freight ScreeningOperation of Cargo Screening Equipment including X-ray and ETDRecording screening information accuratelyCorrect use of screening equipmentCalibration of screening equipmentUnderstanding of SOP's and PLACE noticeWorking alone as a cargo screener, in a warehouse environment with TGE operations staffQualificationsMandatory qualifications may include:
CUSTOMER SERVICE experience is a MUST!No mandatory cargo or passenger screening experience is required, but it is preferred, especially if you are interested in a permanent positionDesirable qualifications and experiences may include:
Experience with X-ray and screening equipmentAbility to work unsupervisedX-Ray Monitoring and ScreeningPhysical Searches and InspectionsExplosive Trace Detection (ETD) ExaminationsWhat You Will Be DoingTraining staff, examining freight via X-ray, ETD and physical searchesCompleting admin duties related to the role of Cargo Examination OfficerReporting and escalation of security and safety events and incidentsQualification and TrainingCertis will cover the cost of your training, including a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (AVI20118) and 40 hours On-the-Job Training plus Dept of Home Affairs accreditation. The Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (TSP) is a nationally recognized qualification and is a requirement for all Cargo Screening Officers and is completely FREE with our Registered Training Organization (RTO ID 45583). Note that to progress into or maintain a position you are required to successfully complete the Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (TSP) and, at the end of your On-the-Job Training, be deemed capable of making independent screening decisions.
